The history of Piper-Heidsieck Cuvee Brut wine dates back to 1785, when Florens-Louis Heidsieck founded his own wine trading house in Reims, France. Later in 1839, he joined hands with his cousin Henri Piper, and the two created the Piper-Heidsieck brand.
The champagne soon became popular, especially when it gained a solid reputation in European royal courts. In 1885, Piper-Heidsieck became the official supplier of champagne to Queen Victoria of England, which was a significant achievement at that time. After that, the brand continued to win other royal orders and customers all around the world.
The house has been through some tough times, including destruction during World War I, but the brand has since bounced back and regained its popularity.
Piper-Heidsieck Cuvee Brut is a blend of 100 crus, with pinot noir grapes from the Montagne de Reims and Cote des Bar regions, and chardonnay grapes from the Côte des Blancs. The wine is matured for at least 24 months in the cellars before being released.
Today, Piper-Heidsieck is still one of the leading champagne houses in France, with a worldwide distribution. It has won many awards and accolades over the years, including being named the Best Champagne of the Millennium by Fine Champagne Magazine. Piper-Heidsieck Cuvee Brut continues to be a popular choice for celebrations and special occasions all around the globe.
